With fluorescent lighting and retro yellow walls, the clock is the only way for you to know how long you have to keep playing before the morning train.

As if you needed another reason to stay up until 5am—enter raucus dance night 2 months ago, memories of which you'd like to burn—the Shibuya Takkyu Club is like Las Vegas for ping-pong die hards.

Located on the ninth floor of an entertainment complex and a stone's throw from Shibuya station, the Shibuya Takkyu Club is the only table tennis destination in Tokyo where you can show your paddle skills all night long. Sure, ping-pong is the activity of choice, but the Club wrapped in canary yellow wall paper punctuated with an ice cream vending machine draws a varied crowd from giggly schoolgirls to libation-soaked businessmen to down-and-dirty ping-pong experts.

Queues for a table can crescendo around midnight, so take our advice and get down to the Shibuya Takkyu Club before the clock rolls over -- unless of course you think you're 'that' good and can run the tables 'til 5am. We'll be in bed, but let us know how you do.

Tables for 30 minutes cost ¥600 before 6pm, ¥700 after and ¥750 all day on weekends.
