Author: Sita Wadhwani

I may have the most confused accent of anyone at CNNGo. I attended an American school in Germany, followed by a British school in India and then university at McGill, in French-speaking Canada.

I stopped after that because I couldn't spell straight anymore.

I came to Mumbai as CNNGo city editor after a decade with ELLE magazine's India edition. What they say about Mumbai is true. It has more going for it by way of entertainment culture than most cities in India -- and its diversity and commercial drive make it unique.

I have freelanced as a writer and fashion stylist for ELLE Décor, Travel + Leisure and Rolling Stone, and as India trend scout for future forecasting companies in London and New York.

Sita Wadhwani's essay was published by Penguin books in an anthology entitled Chasing the Good Life (2006).
