Tiger Airways launches Singapore-Dhaka flights
The first regional low-cost carrier to fly to Bangladesh's capital city, the airline will offer four flights a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Previously, Air Asia had flown the Kuala Lumpur-Dhaka route but suspended operations last July.
Arguably, Dhaka is not among many traveler's top must-see destinations. The City of Mosques recently ranked 139 out of 140 cities surveyed by the 2011 Economist Intelligent Survey of the world's most livable cities.

But Tiger Airways is kickstarting traveler interest with a special promotional one-way fares from S$100, for travel from March 9, 2012 to October 31, 2012.
"Dhaka is our first destination in Bangladesh, and the introduction of this service provides great opportunities to increase both business and consumer travel between Dhaka and Singapore," said Mr Stewart Adams, managing director of Tiger Airways Singapore.
The route should not be short of passengers as there are approximately 120,000 Bangladeshi workers living in Singapore.
Tiger Airways flight TR2652 will depart Singapore Changi Airport at 11:15 p.m. and arrive in Dhaka at 1:15 a.m. Tiger Airways flight 2655 will depart Dhaka at 2:15 a.m. and arrive in Singapore at 8:15 a.m.
