Singapore Grand Prix 2010: Basically a 10-day party
We like cars. Formula 1 cars even more. Formula 1 cars screeching round streets at 180 miles per hour at night time, driven by glamorous drivers cheered on by their even-more glamorous girlfriends, and we pretty much think The Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix has discovered the secret to eternal happiness. And we've barely begun to describe what's on offer this year.
Far from being a race-fanatic only event, this year the Singapore Grand Prix is merely the final act in a comprehensive 10-day entertainment schedule. Officially known as the Grand Prix Season Singapore, from September 17 to race day on September 26 visitors will be treated to parties, race-themed events, music concerts, exhibitions and dining and shopping experiences.
Headliners making appearances throughout the Marina Bay circuit park include Mariah Carey, Missy Elliott, Daughtry and Adam Lambert.
To ensure everyone is kept smiling, some artists will be performing at more than one venue around the circuit park and Grand Prix ticket holders do not have to pay extra for the concerts.
Pricing differs for each zone but the lowest starts at S$38 for a Zone 4 walkabout ticket (for Sept 24, 2010) while the top Green Room three-day ticket with all zones access costs S$3,745.
