The Shanghai World Financial Center observation deck is pretty high. Just how high? Tallest in the world kind of high. At almost half a kilometer in the air, the 55-meter Skywalk 100 observation corridor spans the top of the square gap at the summit of the Shanghai World Financial Center.
With angled glass walls that make you feel as if you are leaning over the edge and see-through floor panels, it's a highly hallucinatory experience. A softer option is the Skywalk 97 at a mere 439 meters with a glass roof that opens up.
Weather depending, the Shanghai World Financial Center observation deck gives commanding views of the city, but it is arguably a cooler skyline when you get to see the Center as well. Tickets range to 150 RMB for an adult with kids charged, somewhat fittingly, according to height. Less than 80 cm and access to the Shanghai World Financial Center observation deck is free.
