Hong Kong has a HK$7.8 million pyrotechnics show planned for the New Year's Eve countdown to 2011.

Fireworks will be set off from the tops of buildings along the waterfront on the Hong Kong Island side of Victoria Harbour. Beginning on the east side of the island and sweeping across to end at the IFC, the numbers 10 to 1 will apear in fireworks for the final 10-second countdown.

After midnight, there will be a four-minute long pyrotechnics display that will resemble a big dragon dancing along Hong Kong's skyline.

Hong Kong Tourism Board executive director Anthony Lau said the annual celebrations attract a growing number of tourists to Hong Kong each year and gained HK$420 million worth of publicity value last year.
