HK$999 all-inclusive trip to Hainan Island and other New Year weekend steals
Hong Kongers are notorious weekend getaway bargain hunters. Here are some of the best packages that are still available for the end-of-year long weekend.
Morning Star tour to Hainan Island for HK$999
This four-day Hainan Island package by Morning Star goes for an incredibly low HK$999 and is inclusive of plane tickets, a room at a five-star resort, meals, and sightseeing tours. The flipside? You may have to share a coach with jabbering housewives, but hey, that’s a small price to pay, for the small price you’re paying. The tour starts on January 1 and lasts for four days.
Cathay Pacific Japan and Malaysia Smart Saver packages
Cathay Pacific tickets usually don’t come this cheap. For HK$3,050 you get a round-trip ticket to the most tourist friendly cities in Japan for the weekend, such as Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagoya. Their Malaysia Smart Saver plan is equally impressive: tickets to Kuala Lumpur and Penang go for HK$1,450 per person, excluding tax.
For more details check out the Cathay Pacific website.
Hong Thai tour to Pattaya for HK$1,799
The schedule for this four-day weekend getaway package is tightly packed and includes back-to-back shopping excursions. Tour highlights include diving outings and visits to the Pattaya night market and Siam Paragon. The tour departs Hong Kong on December 31, returns on January 3, just in time for buyers' remorse to settle in and motivate us to do overtime in 2010.
