Wish you were here -- Mount Everest

In early April, a fundraising trek was organised to Mt Everest base camp by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in Nepal. This photo was taken from Kala Patthar (5345m), which was the final destination for the group of eight Australians to see Mt Everest and its surrounding mountains.

The epic journey took place to raise money for Women’s leadership and good governance training, allowing Nepali women to be equipped with the skills needed to fulfil needs in their communities.
Just like women in Nepal who are currently enduring problems in their communities, our team of trekkers endured a grueling and challenging trek. But in the end, it was all worth it to be on the roof of the world.
The 14-day Everest Base Camp trek starts and ends in Lukla (2840m), which is a 30 minute flight from Kathmandu. The best time to go is in Spring, when there are beautiful clear skies and it's less crowded.
