I'm a native Californian, hold an English B.A. and at one time was a 'slave to the man' with a nine-to-five engineering job in the Silicon Valley. Tired of the grind, I packed up and headed to Shanghai, China in January 2006 with little more than a few (hundred) dollars and a suitcase filled with flip flops and T-shirts.

I lived and worked in Shanghai for two years teaching English, freelance writing and editing a lifestyle publication. I traveled around Asia during my time in China and Hong Kong.

I currently live in the small village of New York City.
