Bangkok launches ‘Wish List’ contest to win back tourists

Grand prize: Two round-trip business class tickets and a stay at the Mandarin Oriental

As part of its efforts to win back tourists following Thailand’s recent flood crisis, the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority has launched a contest calling on global travelers to create their own “Bangkok Wish List.”

The grand prize is pretty sweet: two business class round-trip tickets to Bangkok and a stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. No word on how just how long you get to stay, but even 24 hours would be good.

To enter, go to and pick five city attractions/activities you’d like to check out while you’re in Bangkok. Then, give a brief reason as to why you think people should vote for you.

Votes are cast by clicking “like” on the wish lists via Facebook or retweeting the link on Twitter. Whoever has notched up the most likes and retweets when the contest ends on January 16, 2012, is the winner.
