Free donuts as Krispy Kreme opens in Bangkok

The American donut brand opens its first branch in Thailand today, with hundreds of Bangkokians lining up outside Siam Paragon for a taste
Krispy Kreme
Hundreds of people have been lining up at Siam Paragon since early this morning to try Bangkok's first Krispy Kreme donuts.

American donut chain Krispy Kreme opened its first branch in Thailand at Bangkok’s Siam Paragon shopping mall this morning, where hundreds are now lined up to be among the first to try the sugary fried dough.

In the run-up to the opening, Krispy Kreme advertised that they’d give a year’s supply of a dozen free donuts per week to the first customer when they opened this morning, followed by six months of donuts for the second customer, three months for the third and so on, right up to the 101th-200th customers, who get a dozen free donuts. And people began camping out last night.

This morning, the line outside of Siam Paragon leading into the ground-floor shop continues to grow and the #Krispykreme hashtag is now trending among Thailand's Twitter users.

In the days to come, we expect to see hundreds of brand-conscious Bangkokians carrying Krispy Kreme boxes through the streets as they show off their ability to keep up with the latest dining trends.
