10 Thonglor and Ekamai hits, according to a resident expert
The co-creator of a new website devoted to Bangkok’s trendiest neighborhood shares her top picks for a night out in the area
Bangkok’s Soi Thonglor and Soi Ekamai, two long thoroughfares accessible from Sukhumvit and Petchburi Roads, are both loved and loathed.
The traffic is shockingly brutal, even by Bangkok standards. But they also feature some of the city’s top higher-end dining and nightlife options, making them a magnet for Bangkok’s young moneyed and the see-and-be-seen crowd.
In a trend-conscious neighborhood like this venues come and go weekly though, which is why new website Thonglor-Ekamai.comis gaining fans fast.
A continuously updated site created by Ekamai residents Sapphira and Steve Beaudin, it maps out all the bars, restaurants and shops in the entire Thonglor-Ekamai area. To keep it as up-to-date as possible, Sapphira devotes her nights to checking out the latest additions to the scene.
Here are 10 of her personal favorite bars and restaurants in the area -- along with a few recommendations on what to order.

"Popular pub chain gives Ekamai a local hangout spot to start the night at before hitting the clubs -- unbelievably cheap drinks and food."
