Author: Zat Liu

A Shanghai native, but Zat Liu doesn't give a damn about labels perhaps because of her earlier childhood farmer life on Chongming Island.
She started her writing career in 2003 writing for two English magazines respectively, "that's Shanghai" and "Shanghai Talk," as well as for Shanghaiist.com. She has been a freelancer writer since 2008.
Zat may be seen as a strong Shanghai woman, and maybe even aggressive sometimes, but she has a soft spot in her heart for the strays in the city. She is a cat mom with two cats and has been volunteering for SCAA, a non-profit animal charity org based in Shanghai for three years now.
